We’ll have a book exchange, so bring a few or take a few. We don’t have rules.
Pasta Boys will serve their final plates of deliciousness of the year to accompany the bar’s yummy cocktails, mocktails, spirits, and beers. What pairs well with Fitzgerald or Austen?

Meet at the enormous round table outside Whole Foods Market, if it’s available. Look for two hippos perched atop a book on the table, and you’ll know you found us. We’ll have the book exchange table again, so bring a book or two if you’d like to make room on your bookshelf. Or find some good ones to take home!
Plenty of free parking, and of course many options for food and drink (even beer at Puka’s if you consume in our usual meeting area), but no pressure to spend money at all.

It’s been a bit noisy lately, so if you’re sensitive to the sounds of yelling kids, beeping trucks, and loud engines, bring some noise-canceling ear things if you have them.
RAIN PLAN: We’ll try to get the tables right by the Whole Foods door, beneath the eaves, and take a few tables inside the mall. If you usually come early (Baron, Terecia, Deb, and Jacob!) and the weather is yucko, maybe we can try to claim tables inside early. I haaaaate to forgo the introductions and stuff so somebody think of how we might do it in the mall without drawing mall security’s attention.

We are celebrating the holidays with a readup at The Boba Room in the Waipahu Shopping Plaza, the same plaza as Savers and Max’s of Manila. 94-300 Farrington Hwy, #G-15.
This isn’t a full-on potluck, but we’ll share some treats and snacks if you can bring some.
Bring a wrapped (or gift-bagged) white elephant book for the grab bag activity. Order some yummy drinks if you can!

We’ll meet him beneath t he trees near the intersection of Paikau St. and Kaimanahila St. (see map on picture 2). He’ll have a blue picnic blanket spread out.
@dosjefes808 will be there, but you can also just bring your own snacks and drinks.
Bring a towel, blanket, or chair. Bring sunscreen if you wish. And bring something to read!
There is free street parking all around. There are no restrooms, but there are public park restrooms at Kilauea Park on 22nd Ave, and at the Kapiolani Community College Farmers Market, each about 5 minutes away (driving).
We’ll post details for each activity separately as always, but here’s a hype roll for December plus a little bonus hype. Make room in your planner for reading with us!
Hawaii State Library, Thursday the 4th, 5 to 7. Emily (a librarian!) is our host. Meet in the Language, Literature, and History section — first floor, left wing as you enter, straight back.
Parking. There’s metered parking all around. Street parking is free after 6.
We hope to make this recurring, first Thursday each month, so if you can’t make this one, please let us know that you’re interested in future meetups here!
We’ll spend the first half hour chatting and taking voluntary photos. Then we’ll read for an hour, and then call it a night, or chat a little more. The library closes at 7.

Proof Social Club is a bar in Downtown Honolulu where Chaplain Lane meets Fort Street Mall.
There is no program. Just show up, get something to eat or drink, read, and (if you like!) meet other book-lovers. Pasta Boys have said they’ll be there to provide reading fuel. Check out their Instagram to see what they might be offering!
We’ll have the book exchange table again, so bring a book or two if you’d like to make room on your bookshelf. The kitty lamps will also be there. And Proof has its own book exchange shelf, so please take a look there too!
