Our meetup at Kawaikui Beach Park this week is rescheduled from Tuesday the 13th to Wednesday the 14th.

5:30 to 7. Look for Gina in a shady spot on the Waimanalo side of the park (the left side as you face the ocean).

Bring snacks and drinks if you want. Bring a chair or beach towel. Bring sunscreen if you like. And bring whatever you’re reading in whatever format! See you there!

Kahala Mall 6 to 8, in front of Whole Foods Market.
Lots of free parking. Lots of food and drink options nearby. No pressure to spend money.

Optional socializing. Optional group photo. One hour of time alone with your book — whatever you’re reading and in whatever format!

Then stick around and chat or keep reading or call it a night.

Bring a few books for the book exchange table, or take a few, or whatever. We don’t have rules.

Kawaikui Beach Park! Sunday March 30!

2 to 4 p.m. with Gina as our host!

5469 Kalanianaole Hwy. on the far edge of Aina Haina going east, practically the last thing before Niu Valley. Free parking, shady trees, a (public park) restroom, and even a covered pavilion.

Look for Gina in a shady spot on the Waimanalo side of the park (left side as you’re facing the ocean)! She has a table sign with a reading hippo on it.

Bring snacks and drinks (if you want), a chair or beach towel, maybe some sunscreen, and physical books, ebooks, audio books, textbooks, comic books, or whatever!

We’ll chat a little, take a voluntary group photo, read for about an hour, and then chat a little more. Socializing is totally optional, of course! Please add your name to our email list (if you’re not on it), and please take a Honolulu Silent Book Club sticker if you haven’t already got one.

Our monthly reading session at Kahala Mall is on for Thursday the 13th, from 6 to 8.

Bring something to read! Bring anything to read! In whatever format!

Look for us at the big round table in front of Whole Foods Market. If you see two hippos perched atop a book, you’ll know you’ve found us.

We’ll say hi (if you want to) at 6, then take an optional group photo, then read for an hour beginning at around 6:30. At 7:30, keep reading, stick around and chat, or call it a night.

We’ll have a book exchange table, so bring a few or take a few. I’d rather you take unclaimed books back with you, but if you don’t, I’ll drop them off at the Little Free Library at Makiki District Park.

Tons of free parking. Lots of food and drink options nearby, but no pressure to spend any money at all. Restrooms in mall and in Whole Foods Market. If it rains, we’ll probably move to tables in the mall because we probably won’t get those tables under the eaves right in front of Whole Foods. But look there first. 🙂
